I lived in this community for a year and a half and it was great when I first moved in 2022. It was clean and other residents were respectful. Then sometime in 2023 everything went downhill. Pipes from the third-floor and pipes on the second floor both leaked into my apartment two separate times while living there causing them to have to cut out chunks of my bathroom ceiling after they tried to paint over the mold the first time. NOBODY picks up after their dogs. The dog park became so bad I couldn’t take my dog anymore without having to watch where I stepped. Every weekend the pool becomes less relaxing and more like a frat party that I could even hear from my unit. $45 valet trash fee is ridiculous considering they come when they feel like it and they toss the trash bins around the hallways and leave a mess. The walls are THIN!!! The people above me were so obnoxiously loud that even when I had guests over they were shocked at how bad it was but after several complaints and nothing changed I terminated my lease and left. Management sends weekly emails reminding residents of community policies but they don’t enforce them. The property is pretty and the units are nice and you can’t beat the location but for what they charge for rent, you can find better in that area! I do want to give credit to Daniel in the leasing office who is always kind, warm and willing to assist in any way.
My move-in experience at Aurora was absolutely amazing! Victoria and Daniel were extremely helpful and patient when deciding to move to Aurora. I love my apartment and would highly recommend here to anyone looking to move! I want to thank Daniel again for helping me get everything set up so I could have my desired move-in date! And I want to thank Victoria for being patient with me in the application process. This has been a great experience and I am very happy to have a helpful leasing team!
I lived here from March 2021 to April 2023.
I lived in a studio apartment on the first floor that was 505 sq feet.
Pros
-Office Staff and Maintenance Staff are professional and tried their best to help.
NO complaints regarding them. They tried their best to help or fix issues in a timely manner.
However, it seems like there are certain things that can’t get done efficiently because of corporate or third party companies. I truly believe corporate needs to approve more budget in keeping up with cleanliness and amenities instead of appeasing to shareholders or their bottom line or whatever the reason is they are keeping expenses low while raising rent. Stop raising rent and then cutting small costs in regards to quality of your tenant’s living.
- Gym is great. The quality of the cleanliness and amenities of the gym seemed to go down in quality after the apartment was bought by another company in August 2021. I understand that they can’t help the availability of towels but if you keep raising rent the amenities shouldn’t change in quality. Is it really that hard to have a fresh supply of towels daily? Hotels are able to provide this.
- The walls are thin but the outside noise around the apartment (except for the once every couple of months fire alarm of the main building going off) was pretty quiet. I lived right by the bike path and outside noise was rarely an issue besides the occasional motorcycle group going by.
Cons
- THIN WALLS. I could hear numerous noises from my neighbor’s apartment including his dog barking. I was cool with my neighbor and was able to speak with him if it bothered me working or sleeping but most people don’t have a relationship like that with the neighbor they share a wall with. I had friends and coworkers that lived on the second or third floor and they complained about the thin walls as well. I even ran into a couple that moved out early into an apartment with thicker walls downtown because they had a dog and didn’t want to worry about thin walls.
- I worked from home 50% of the time so the thin walls were a huge issue to me. Even with headphones on I could hear my neighbor’s dog barking.
-
- Residents are extremely disrespectful in regards to the dog park area. I would take my dog there 3 times daily and picked up 5 piles in the morning and evening so my dog could enjoy the area without either of us stepping in mess. I mentioned this to the apartment once and their reply was that the maintenance staff picks it up daily. This should not be a maintenance personnel’s job.
- Pool did not seem as clean as when I moved in initially. I was told the pool is cleaned twice a week. I understand it’s Florida and there are storms but again with the cost of rent they should keep up the amenities. It would be a prettier pool area if it looked cleaner.
- Can find larger apartments for less in Baldwin or near Baldwin. They prob won’t be as new or modern looking though.
- Valet Living provided the WORSE service I have ever seen. They eventually had a different manager for the area right before my lease was up and the service seemed to get somewhat better. Initially I lived on the side of the building where I was the only door and I was missed for trash pickup 80% of the time. I complained to the apartment and they would try to make it right.
- Valet living never answered their calls and when they did they would say I can’t be refunded my fee for the month because x.y,z
- I know the apartment staff wanted to use a different company or just hire their own staff but I’m guessing corporate was trying to save money by using this horrible company.
- Certain things were a constant issue but never seemed to get fixed for monthsss. Example the pool gates. One of the pool gates seemed to be broken the entire time I was there. I was told it was a delay by a third party company. I did see a homeless man sleeping in the pool area one time. It didn’t bother me but again I feel this issue should have been able to be handled quicker than it was.
I’ve waited months before posting this review to see if management (and ownership) will get it together and fix the MOUNTAIN of things that are broken and continue to break. As you can tell by my rating, they haven’t.
Elevators continuously break (for days on end with little to no update on when it will be fixed), the fob system has been a POS and also breaks constantly, valet is a joke and rarely picks up on the scheduled time yet we are REQUIRED to pay $45/month, the hallways are disgusting, and the list goes on and on. Management has yet to enforce the new parking stickers that went into effect 12 MONTHS ago so now there are so many cars parked that they just park wherever they want (not in spots).
I’ve lived here for 2 years now and it has just continually gone downhill. Also to point out that come renewal this last time, they raised my rent almost $300/month and I had to fight to get it reduced…
For the price you pay, you can live in a better managed property closer to downtown. It’s a shame because the location is great and the units are really nice - I’d love to stay but at this rate, I doubt I will.
On a positive, Daniel (leasing) in the office is fantastic.
Continues to be a downhill turn after the management change. I used to enjoy living here but forget it now everything is backwards and you don’t get what your paying for at all. We pay per month to have garbage picked up 5 times a week and …
Property manger is very accommodating & leasing agents also very nice & attentive. Maintenance staff is wonderful! A few speed bumps during move in but property manager was very understanding & flexible & willing to work with us. We felt very heard & taken care of when all was said & done!
living here was wonderful. If you are a young professional, just looking for somewhere, fun and beautiful to live this is your place. And the leasing staff always made it feel like we had a personal connection, and resolved pretty much any …
Let me start by saying I love the location, I have lived in baldwin park for 5 years and recently moved to this complex which is right across the street from baldwin park in February. I love my unit and convenience of everything around. I …
